All About Me

Hello all!

Since I have not yet left Canada I wanted to speak a little about my upcoming journey. Like I have mentioned before my name is Rachel Ing. I am a soon to be graduate ( 3 weeks left!)student of the Early Childhood Education program from George Brown College. It has been a long time coming and I couldn’t be anymore excited and ready to move on. During my time at George Brown College, I had believed that I wanted to become a Registered Early Childhood Educator. But as time passed on, I have found a new passion which is to teach English as a second language (ESL teacher). Also, I have fallen in love with learning languages and started learning Japanese. I absolutely love it! Now that I established what I wanted to do as a career, I knew that I wanted to go to Japan to teach. I soon started applying for many jobs in Japan. But unfortunately, because I do not have a degree just yet many of the jobs did not even allow me to send in my CV as I did not meet the requirements. Of course this did not stop me as I had applied to China, Vietnam, Thailand, and South Korea. After applying to several jobs I had FINALLY gotten hired by an International Kindergarten school in Beijing, China. I will be working abroad in Beijing for a year and will then continue my post secondary education at a university (still unknown) aiming to get a degree in Modern Languages. My goal is to still become a ESL teacher in Japan, but for now I am more than thrilled to be given this job. I will be leaving Toronto on April 22, 2016 just right after exams week is just about over. The excitement is too hard to contain!!!!!
